Where did we come from?
In August of 2025 Andy lost his father, Cliff, to dementia. Before that awful disease took over, Cliff had a brilliant mind. He held executive positions in a number of firms and was a tenured professor of accounting and finance at Ohio Wesleyan University. He also wrote a book on accounting systems which is probably quite outdated now! Cliff had a true passion for learning and jumped in with both feet when he found a new project that consumed him. In looking through his large library of books, Andy came across an old business card of his:

It was for a company that he was never able to get off the ground: Canid Risk Management. Andy named this company Canid Internal Audit and Risk Management Solutions LLC in memory of his father and his adventurous spirit. CIARMS has now launched with the hope that his Dad would be proud, and that his own sons would know they have permission to never stop learning and trying new things. Cliff said it best:

In this spirit, CIARMS is dedicated to meeting the needs of your organization with the same drive and commitment to learning and improving that Cliff showed every day of his life. Let's see what we are all capable of - together!
